Matuto
🕯️ Matuto
A short psychological horror experience created for Pizza Doggy's Horror Jam 2025.
You wake up inside a cold, silent church, lit only by a flickering candle and guided by a mysterious book.
As you explore the space, the darkness thickens, the pages whisper, and something seems to be lurking just out of sight.
Sometimes we’d hear something during development—something strange.
And we’d just say: “Careful… it might be the Matuto.”
No one really explained. One of us thought it was the thing in the shadows. The other still asks what it means.
But when the candle begins to die… you’ll understand.
Do you know what the Matuto is?
Or worse — what if that sound… can only be the Matuto?
🔦 Features:
- First-person candlelight horror — no flashlight, only flame
- Audio-driven tension — groaning intensifies over time unless you collect pages
- No words, no UI — everything is told visually or through sound

🧠 Jam Theme(s) used:
- Do not answer the knocking
- You’re in Hell (interpretatively)
🎯 Diversifiers applied:
- ✅ Game audio is the main part of the gameplay
- ✅ Sound intensifies as you get closer to completing the game
🎮 Controls:

– MoveMouse
– Look
